“IT as a country” - JDL

SNAPS DAY 344

A leader’s vision can be great, inspiring and moving. Unless you put your vision into reality, then it is just a pretty poster on the wall. Being a visionary is not easy. It is very hard, very difficult and sometimes a lonely place unless others also share your vision, embrace your vision as their own, and, rally with you to achieve what is now the vision of everyone in the entire organization.

Your core values must be engrained in your soul. Your passion must be deeper than most people. You must train and work harder than anyone else. You must remain humble no matter what victories you have achieved. Your heart must always be pumping love and positivity for your community. You must consistently prioritize others before yourself. You must be able to remain focused on your vision even if over 12,000 neg bugs say your mid-life crisis is hitting you very bad and that you will fail. You must keep your green arrows focused on your target no matter what strong winds come your way under blue skies.

*About the photo
In 2028, the Philippine IT-BPM industry will grow to US$59 billion in revenue from US$32B and will have 2.5 million direct employees from 1.4M this 2022. One of the strongest pillars of the industry that will make this happen is the IT industry and I am proud to be part of it.

In July of this year, Jonathan De Luzuriaga and his Team started the construction of an 11-hectare Technology and Innovation Township in Barangay Dulao, Bago City, Negros Occidental. This state-of-the-latest-art Township will serve as the home of several IT-BPM Companies, innovation learning centers and other hi-tech facilities that will attract, enhance and empower the digital talent in the Philippines.

While in the Metaverse business matching event with the Korean delegates in the SoftCon, we took a photo flashing my signature Patrick Pose. I congratulated him for his inspiring achievements especially the Township. He humbly replied, “Bro, Spring Valley Township is God’s gift to the Philippines and to the world”.

I told him… “Brother, YOU are the gift of God to the Philippine IT industry because that is what the name Jonathan means (God’s gift).”

p.s.
Thank you for always inspiring me bro!

At the heart of the heart of the Philippine IT industry is Jonathan who is serving his 8th term as President of the association and is the CEO and Lord Commander of Spring Valley. I work closely with him in the IT-BPM industry since 2007. Since then, he shared the latest “tech” discoveries, news and breakthroughs. He shared his vision.. “One day, I will build a venue in the countryside where the best & the brightest kids, students, start-ups, innovators, technologists, entrepreneurs and CEOs can hang-out and do whatever tech they want to help make the planet a better place.”
