What will prevent you from achieving your big dream? She said “The fear of failing. Doubting if I can do it or not.”

What drives you to achieve your dream? “When I see other people do their best, I am inspired. This is why I always do my best so others will be inspired too”

Then she said “ Papa, while the future looks blur cos I am only in 4th Grade, I believe the only thing that can really stop me from achieving my goal is me. I won’t let myself stop me. I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goal. If I become successful, I can help other people and that will make me happy”

Every time I fetch my daughter, Elisa Adrienne from school, we always find a new place to eat for our “Mirien-Date”. One day when she was in 4th Grade, she told me there is a new cafe near their school called Playground 11.

The cafe looks really pretty. They have a lot of beautiful furniture, artifacts, and signs. I asked Elisa “What sign in the cafe inspires you the most?” She immediately stood up and pointed to the sign seen on the photo. Then I asked her:

What’s your BIG dream? “I will be a doctor. I want to provide help to people who needs it the most.”

*At work one day, the new leadership Team met for the first time to brainstorm and define our goal for the future. My gutsy buddy said “How about become the Center of Performance Excellence? It will be beyond just meeting and exceeding metrics of our clients. We will be #1 in ALL metrics across their entire global vendor network”.

Lightbulbs started to light up. The tenured leader in the Team amongst us who we fondly call mayor said “To be the Center of Performance Excellence, we must also strive to be the Vendor of Choice”. Finally, we agreed that we are in a people industry so “OUR ASSOCIATES must be loud and proud that we are the Work EnviRonment Of Choice”.

Years later, it was no longer just the leadership Team who owns these goals… Several thousands of happy Associates own these goals. If you ask if we have achieved our goals?

All our Associates will cheer loud and shout.. “WE ROCk!”
