"Why go to the gym"

SNAPS DAY 260

9/17/20222 min read

You go to the gym to reduce anything in excess, and, to add anything that is lacking in order to be healthy.

It’s the same at work. As leaders, we ensure the Team effectively does the right thing all the time, and, efficiently does things with the highest levels of quality, and in the fastest & cost-efficient manner consistently. There must be a healthy balance of being aggressive and being tactically deliberate as you execute your action plans in order to always stay profitable in growing your business, and, in order to stay fit no matter what temptations come your way like back-to-back birthday celebrations wherein you can’t avoid the delicious paella, lechon and dessert.

Having a culture of transformation is very important as it ensures each Associate thinks, plans, and acts towards achieving the wildly important goal of the organization by achieving each of the strategic business imperatives. In like manner, staying true to the fitness programs you have in the gym will help you achieve your health and weight goals.

Ensuring you stay healthy reduces the chance of getting a heart attack and other illnesses. Meanwhile, ensuring you constantly manage your business profitably ensures you do not close shop. With the influx of technology, people have a wide access to specialized & personalized fitness programs & apps they can perform at home. In the same manner, the working environment of the world has changed. Now, Associates can work from anywhere.

Once you achieve your health goals, you will feel better, more flexible, can physically do more, and can be more active overall. Once you achieve your wildly important goals across your finances, customer experience, Associate experience and for all other stakeholders, you will be in a a more solid position to expand beyond boarders - new customer segments, new markets, and drive positive change to more communities.

*About the photo

My son, Great, loves going to the gym and loves to bike. On his birthday last 2016, I accompanied him in buying a new bike with his own money as his gift for himself. Fast forward to 2022, Great is taller and a lot bigger now in person. I often tell him jokingly… “Anak, I used to have bigger muscles than yours, but then I woke up”. 😅
