We did a surprise flash mob during the 21st birthday celebration of my daughter, Tres, yesterday. She missed her 18th birthday debut due to the pandemic lockdowns so we celebrated it this year.

It was a 1970s retro disco themed shindig. We informed all her guests in advance they must wear retro outfits and practice the simple disco steps of the flash mob which will happen when Tres is about to say her “thank you speech” at the end of the program. The emcee will interrupt her, snatch the mic and suggest the need to have some background music and that all guests must stand up during her thank you speech.

“Let’s Dance” was written and produced by Jim Lee and sung by Chris Montez in 1962. Thank you for helping us make Tres’ birthday memorable.

So…. I choreographed this dance but somehow I forgot the steps during the actual activity. It was a great thing my eldest daughter, Nina wearing white, saved the day for me.
