A FEW WEEKS BEFORE MOTHERS’ DAY some years ago, my gorgeous wife Prudence has been on the phone and meeting up with her female friends and colleagues at work about their challenges at work being a female, struggles of being a single mother, having problems with their male partner, and, other personal circumstance.

My wife is a good-hearted human being so she is always there for her friends.

When Mothers Day was approaching… I noticed she is unusually sad, quiet and sometimes in tears thinking of the situation of her female friends who are mostly mothers just like her. I did my best to cheer her up, take her out to the movies or dinner but somehow she is still not in her usual happy self.

It seems there is too much negative energy that she has absorbed. I understand why she is doing this and I support her because all her female friends are our family friends too.

I need to do something to bring back her heart's smile back...

*About the photo

On the morning of Mothers’ Day..., me and my 4 awesome kids surprised their gorgeous mother Prudence with a dozen of a dozen red roses beautifully spread on top of our dining table. Finally, I saw her happy again after several weeks.

Then she asked me… “Pa, what will we do with all these beautiful bouquets of dozen red roses after we take pictures?”

I told her… “Let us go and visit your friends so you can give them a bouquet of red roses each… so you can share happiness and positivity”

We were able to give out 9 bouquets including 1 for her mother in Loyola cemetery and also 1 for my mother in Sampaloc Manila that day.

When we got back home in the evening, she gave the remaining 3 bouquets of dozen red roses to our 3 daughters and told them..

“Girls... pray and try to find a life-partner who will be with you during your saddest days and knows how to make your heart smile”
