Last Christmas 2020 during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, our 4 awesome kids and the K4K Family of friends were concerned if they can give gifts that Christmas. It was fortunate that the lockdown in our area allowed controlled gathering of people up to 50% of a venue. Our kids rented the basketball court in the village to conduct their meal packing activity.
Through the years, K4K has also donated to survivors of super typhoons Pablo (2012), Yolanda (2013) and that year was typhoon Ulysses (2020).
Covid did not stop all our kids from sharing their blessings last Christmas 2020. In coordination with Rise Against Hunger Phils., on November 28, 2020, the K4K Family was able to pack 50 boxes which has 36 meal packs each. That’s a total of 21,600 meal packs. Each meal pack can make 12 high nutrition meals for 12 children.
Rise Against Hunger agreed to bring it to the super typhoon survivors the following day. Thank you, Jomar Fleras from RAH.
Huge appreciation to the K4K Family Members:
🎁Cardenas Family - John, Crys, CJ, JC.
🎁Monteza Family - Michael, Nette, Mav, Aji, Marielle, Marsha
🎁Mosqueda Family - Doods, Leonora, Nichole, Evette, Nathan
This Christmas season 2022 will be the 13th year of the K4K gift giving. If you know of a poorest of the poor community up to 4 hours drive from Metro Manila… please directly contact my daughter, Tres, for details Trinity Salazar
*About the video
Back in 2017, our kids asked DSWD Pantawid ng Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) to recommend the poorest of the ultra-poor community in Cavite. He said the poorest of the ultra-poor community in Cavite is a community that NO SPONSOR WANTS TO GO TO because of the VERY BAD smell of GARBAGE.
My kids immediate unanimous reaction....
“That’s where we need to go... where no one wants to go!”
Barangay Kanluran, Rosario, Cavite - a coastal ultra-poor community wherein parts of it is also a garbage dump site. A portion of the community is built on top of reclaimed area partly filled with garbage. The source of livelihood is fishing, dried fish and garbage scavenging.
