All Associates are given the opportunity to choose what they want to become in their career. Some wants to be the best frontline Associate or a frontline Team Manager or a Trainer, a Quality Associate, an Human Resource Business Partner, etc. Not everyone wants to become a President, a Vice President, a Director or even a Manager. It is fine. Case in point, out of 100,000 Associates in an organization there is only 1 CEO. If all 100,000 Associates want to become the CEO… who will do the actual billable work?

In whatever role and career you want to pursue, be the best that you can be. So when you decide that you want to be a Manager, work towards becoming the #1 Manager.

My role is to ensure you have all the tools, the support and work environment you need to become successful… very successful!

This photo shows my mom who is ever-supportive and present when dad was sworn-in to become a Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge for the National Capital Region. Later in his career after being appointed as a special criminal court handling rebellion, heinous crimes and major drug cases... his colleagues asked him if he wants to become an Associate Justice. Dad said that mom has been his greatest supporter and source of inspiration. Mom later lost her eyesight due to retinitis pigmentosa. Dad decided to remain as an RTC Judge to have time for mom. If he was promoted to Associate Justice, this role requires him to be very busy and involves regular travel around the country to research and investigate the cases of the Supreme Court assigned to him.

When I was younger and still studying in the university, I asked him a similar question “Dad, I know you want to care for mom but don’t you want to be promoted so you can be a justice of the entire Philippines instead of an RTC judge for just the national capital region (NCR)?”

He gave me his usual dad-smile and replied.. “Caring for your mom is most important to me than having a bigger kingdom. Besides, I may have a small kingdom but in my kingdom, I am the king”
