In all organizations I have been part of, ALL Associates regardless of rank, including myself, are required to comply with company policies.

These policies are guided by the Labor Code of the Philippines (LCP), our Employee Code of Conduct, and the Core Values of the organization. These form part of the basis on how we create our policies, our strategies, business imperatives and, how we hire, promote and let go of Associates.

On of the causes for letting go of Associates happens when there is evidence that s/he committed serious misconduct, fraud, commission of a crime, violence, harassment, gross/habitual neglect of duty and similar 'just causes' based on the LCP.

This is an intense and not an easy process but "must be done" to ensure we constantly have a safe, empowering and vibrant work environment that Associates and future Associates trust, love and advocate as their second Home. When Associates trust their workplace, there is increased likelihood that the company brand is healthy and loved by the community.

Due to its sensitivity and complexity, meetings like this are conducted in partnership with our Human Resource - Associate Relations Team and with our Legal Department.

A few times in my entire career, (along with an HR representative) I had to personally be the one to politely tell my star performer after the sessions with HR & Legal Teams have been concluded.. “May I have your ID please” and the other company assets. While I value their contributions, the interest and safety of ALL Associates is my priority.

During our May 2019 family vacation in Japan, we chanced upon Baymax in Tokyo Disneyland Resort. It was such a joy to hear her/him say “I am Baymax. Your personal healthcare companion”.
