Leaders need to have a good foresight for the future in order to anticipate & prepare for threats, opportunities and uncertainties.

How do you develop foresight:

-Deliberately learn something new every day. (Study. Read. View. Share.)

-Gain experience. (Be data driven. Take calculated risks. Learn from failure.)

-Challenge the status quo. (Thinking out of the box. Be limitless. Embrace change.)

-Collaborate. (Socialize. Align. Win together.)

-Be bold. (Be a visionary. Dream. Achieve.)

It is easier said than done and it cannot be done over night. For up and coming leaders, I encourage you to actively participate in Team activities, and, in strategic planning sessions starting at a Team level or Department level. As you gain more experience, you can be part of strategic planning sessions at a corporate level.

*About the photo

Dad wrote a poem to his first grandchild, Nina Gabrielle, who as a little cute girl loves listening to his bedtime stories nonstop even up to 3 o’clock am.

He wrote this for my eldest daughter at least 8 years ago before he turned 70 yrs old. Our dad passed away last year, February 1st 2021.

BELOVED

(by RTC Judge Jaime Naval Salazar, Jr for Nina “Ninabunina” Gabrielle S. Bacolod)

You are always in my heart

Wherever I am; whatever I do

When I look at Orchids

Swaying in the breeze

I see your warm and softly Gaze

Only you wakes me up in the morning

At 3 o’clock am.

Only you makes me sleep and dream

Of fairies, princesses and rosy things.

Because of you there is never a winter in my life

And leaves like in autumn become more colorful and nice.

I hope that in this far-away land where I am now

You are thinking of me as I am thinking of you.
