•Professional perspective:

In a Team environment, confidently take the mic and speak your mind. It is both your right and responsibility. Every Team member has the right to be heard. You also have the responsibility to voice out your opinion, suggestions and insights especially if you are representing your Team. Effective communication and collaboration ensure everyone is aligned and moves towards the same goal. So, never let the mic skip you.

During solution defenses to clients, the common opportunity is people focus on their speech and prettifying their ppt slides. They are more interested in what they want to say rather then hear what the clients have to say. Based on my experience, I deliberately alot more time for Q&A. I swiftly discuss the executive summary of my solution (philosophy, people, process, technology) based on the clients’ needs & pain points (which tells them “I understand your pain therefore I can solve it”), I give them peace of mind that I can transition & stabilize performance taking both project & process risks into consideration (get to BAU ASAP), and then transform (these are all the cool tools, ML, RPA & stuff) so it strategically aligns to their overall vision and imperatives.

•Personal Perspective:

Music is the language of the soul. The very first sound you heard is your mother’s lullaby. The first time her heart smiled was when she heard your singing (crying) voice for the very first time. Whether you have a beautiful voice or just love to sing, you can’t help but sing daily. Meanwhile, if you hear anyone singing in any random public place (airport, restaurants, elevators, etc).. chances are, that’s a Filipino. 😅

•About the video:

Yup, that’s me signing “I gotta feeling” by Black Eyed Peas. I was invited by Associates from one of my previous organizations to be their executive sponsor. Every quarter, they’d book a bar with band equipment, invite all the amateur bands within the organization to perform 2-3 songs, and donate the proceeds to charity. There was one gig we had 17 bands performing. So… as their executive sponsor they don’t have any choice but to allow me to sing 1 song every gig. 🥰
