“I Have No Doubt”

SNAPS DAY 328

11/24/20222 min read

As you progress in your leadership journey, one of the hardest things to do is to let go of personally doing the daily activities you have been doing for years. It’s not that you do not trust your successor or your Team that they cant do the work effectively, efficiently and successfully even without your direct intervention… but you sometimes feel you still need to be part of the action even if you’re in a higher role already. It could be because you are so used to doing things your way and it works so you tend to not be open to different approaches even when it leads to the same or better output. Sometimes it’s because you miss the spark of electricity that makes your day meaningful.

As you advance to the next level, your responsibilities, success measures, and role changes. One of them is that you must trust your leaders that they can manage the Team very well and that they will evolve it towards new and exciting heights. Your role transforms from being the Star Player to Mentor, Coach and Cheerleader. Later, you evolve to becoming the Dad or Mom or your organization.

*About the photo
Since the first day I met Anand, he has given me his full trust and confidence. He empowers me to take the lead and run with it. He allows me to fail fast and learn quickly from my mistakes. He allows me to make critical decisions like during the global pandemic, implement strategies in taking care of our clients, budget to enhance our Associate-centric Programs, and supports me in my passion to serve the industry & the community. He does not look over my shoulders instead he is available 24 hours x 365 days whenever I need help, guidance or just to bounce off ideas. The best part is….. he is like this to ALL of my peers and ALL our leaders. He is truly one of the most remarkable global servant leaders I know and I also call him my friend.

Whenever I propose any project or solution to him and commit to achieve the desired results, he would always respond “I have no doubt (you can do it)”. On November 24, he changed my role from Delivery Head to Country Head. Thank you and rest assured I will continue to grow our Team; that’s a promise!

This is our recent photo. He is finally striking my Patrick Pose. 😎
