Priority #1: Talent Development and Sourcing
SNAPS DAY 312

As leaders in the Contact Center industry, one of our responsibilities is to help source and develop talent for our industry. The outsourced work is currently at 12% or close to 6 million direct employees globally. The general trend is for companies to increase outsourcing and offshoring to optimize costs and talent availability. This trend is concerning because while demand for jobs are abundant, there is scarcity of available talent in the Philippines. The reality is that, there is talent but they need to be encouraged to join the industry.
As the requirements of the industry shift towards more complex, Tier 2, technical and specialized work, this can be an opportunity for the current Associates working in the industry to focus on so they can expand and diversity their skills and competencies while getting higher pay in the process. Meanwhile, the simple work like customer service can be done by new entrants and freshers in the industry. Hence, the need to intensify and aggressively expand the Contact Center Readiness Program up to the Barangay levels to boost joiners in the industry and fulfill the job requirements. Personally, I want to target those residing in ultra-poor and depressed communities because they have the biggest drive to become successful. If we give them the opportunity and free training, they will get employed, perform their very best and excel.
This has been my purpose for several years now, to help people from ultra-poor and depressed communities get employed so they can provide food, medicines, education and HOPE for their families. So help me God.

These photos were taken during the Memorandum of Agreement signing with TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña in TESDA Regional Office, Cebu City, appointing CIB.O as the Industry Board for Region VII last November 24, 2021. In this role, CIB.O is mandated to implement all IT-BPM related training programs of TESDA in the entire Region VII - Central Visayas region which includes Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.
I am humbled to represent my organization (Tech Mahindra) as a Board of Trustee and Chairman for Talent Development (non technical) in the CIB.O (Cebu IT-BPM Organization). As the Chairman for Talent Development, I am honored to carry this forward and onwards to success. Our goal is to bridge the gap between the requirements of the IT-BPM industry and the talent in the region. My personal aspiration is to encourage and influence the folks from depressed and ultra-poor communities to enroll in our FREE near hire Contact Center Readiness Programs we call PRIME (EMployment for IT-BPM Readiness Program). I am happy to report that 100% of our pilot classes are employed in the industry. Given the right opportunity, I want to expand this program throughout the entire Philippines.
