I encourage leaders to use their influence to get their Teams involved in outreach programs for the community. When our community thrives, we shall all be successful because we hire from our community.
What I have experienced is that most of our Associates have not seen the realities happening in ultra-poor communities. Once we are able to bring them directly to the community is when they realize they are so much privileged and lucky. Their eyes are now more open to the reality that whatever problems they may have right now is nothing compared to the anxiety of families whose problem 24 x 7 is where to get food to feed their children. With this reality, I have witnessed how Associates naturally bring out their big hearts to help, participate and provide hope. They become so passionate that community service becomes a regular Team building activity.
I have been blessed to be able to influence all of my organizations to share their blessings to the community through various donations and competency-building programs to help willing members of the community get educated on English communication skills needed in the contact center industry to get employed.
As a result, I have seen how community service programs have inspired Associates to be more professionally mature and perform their very best to become successful. The effect is phenomenal improvement in the overall performance of the Team. Everyone is caring for each other and committed to the Team’s success.

One of the most inspiring & heartfelt programs of one of my organizations is our Investing for Good (IFG) program which I had the coveted opportunity to lead along with several amazing leaders you see on this photo. This was when IFG received an award for the most impactful program of the year.
In 2018, IFG was able to achieve 1.8 million touched lives for the year-round programs participated by Associates who volunteered their own personal time. With 94% of the population of over 4,000 Associates volunteering at least 1 hour of their personal time in 2018, the IFG program became a testament of the beautiful culture of love, hope and humanity. As a result, IFG became a living inspiration for our Associates to perform their very best at work.
