Interconnected and Interdependent World

SNAPS DAY 297

Global leaders see the future and prepare their organization to be successful in an interconnected and interdependent digital world. The evolution of the internet of things in the last decade has connected more people, processes and technology beyond boarders. The role of wisdom in leadership is now more important than ever. It requires collaboration across the entire global organization to rise as one. Exceeding goals become table stakes because what’s now expected is to change the game especially in the global arena. Leaders expressing vulnerability become the foundation of creating a global culture of genuine care (malasakit in Filipino), camaraderie and winning as one.

If for some reason you are still leading your operations in a silo or just within your department or just within your country, I highly recommend you reach out to your global organization and participate in projects and activities involving leaders & Teams from other geographies. The wisdom that you will gain and share with other leaders is priceless and will help you grow and mature as a global leader. If you are leading a start-up BPM organization in your country, sooner or later you will have international clients. The only way to be successful in supporting your clients is to know their customers’ culture, characteristics, persona, nuances, humor, trends, needs and wants.

Experiential learning is always the go-to model for my family to gain new knowledge. I am blessed to be able to bring my family to the United States and to several Asian countries through the years. Our family holiday last October 2017 was in Thailand so when my youngest daughter was asked by her teacher to join the United Nations pageant in school, she chose to represent Thailand.

Today is United Nations Day. The theme for 2022 is “Nourishing Peace”.
