"We Learn From the Best!"
SNAPS DAY 292

Servant Leaders are human beings who serve others versus being served by others. They are never lustful about the power that comes when they progress to senior executive roles. On the contrary, the higher their roles are in the organization, the more they are seen and felt at the frontlines. These are charismatic “people first” leaders who work “with you” at the frontline. These are remarkable individuals who have gone through the toughest journey of pains, wins, rejections, politics, learning, awards, escalations, trainings, mentorship and everything else in the wide spectrum of leadership but then are self-motivated to teach what they know so others become successful.
They are driven by their burning desire to share what they have experienced to their mentees. They recognize that each of their mentees are at varying stages of their respective journeys, and, are able to effectively guide them towards the right path to the next success stage.

These leaders will not tell you what to do. Instead they will coach you so you yourself can assess the situation, survive the whirlwinds, identify the opportunities and make the bold decisions. Even when they anticipate that you may fail in your chosen decision, they will make a calculated risk to allow you to fail so you may accept, learn and mature forward in your journey.

Meet one of my best friends at work, Anand Iyer. He is soft-spoken, well-mannered, humble and a great friend for-keeps!
He is also one of the world’s finest Work Force Management leaders I had the privilege to work with. To his Teams, he is known as a mentor who roles-up his sleeves and teaches them everything he knows so they can be brilliant in WFM and mature as a WFM leader. Several of his Team members are now leading WFM Teams across various BPM organizations as managers, directors and VP. To clients, he gives them peace-of-mind that we have the right number of skilled Associates at the right timing regardless whatever global operational challenges there may be. What stakeholders specifically love about him is that he has this exceptional way to explain the most complex situations in plain and simple English.
I can vividly remember several client visits won because the C-suite clients spend longer time engaging, learning and trusting him. Oh… and wait until we do the site tour where clients meet Anand’s junior WFM Analysts in the command center because they speak the same WFM language. Clients would often ask them how they are able to be experts in WFM, planning and analytics. The usual response of his junior WFM Analysts with a proud smile is: “We learn from the best!”
