As leaders, we must always welcome the new members of our Team. Wednesdays is usually the day I welcome new hire classes. I want them to know that THEY are the most important to the most senior leader in the organization. I talk about the organization’s vision, mission and core values. I tell them to call me Patrick as I do not like being called sir or boss because the true bosses are the frontline Associates. I answer all their questions about the organization, HR policies, I describe the exciting work environment they will have, I talk about the amazing fellow Associate we have, and that they can dream BIG and grow their careers in the organization.

Yes, I usually get myself to sing and / or dance when I meet the new hires. I want them to know that the fun & engaging work environment starts with me. Then, I always end the welcome meeting asking everyone to join me with the cheer of the Team.
