The speed of how change is changing has changed.
I took a job in Cebu City last January 6, 2020. I am blessed with a very supportive wife, children and family so it was a decision by everyone for me to get this job and relocate to Cebu City.
One of the things my family was thinking… there are 6 of us in the family (me, my wife and 4 kids) and our birthdays are at different months of the year. The airfare is very cheap if you buy it way ahead of time for the entire family. This means we can have 6 weekend birthday celebrations in Cebu which has numerous beaches and mountains where we can have family celebrations.
Then, Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown happened on March 15, 2022. Immediately, the plans and the environment around us changed.
I did not see my family for almost a year. We had to connect via video conference daily because I was not able to travel from Cebu back to Manila. When my dad became very ill, I was not able to arrive back in Manila to be there at the time that he passed away. This did not only affect my family. This pandemic affected everyone around the globe.

As a human race, our way of life changed instantly - work environment, meetings, life at home, groceries, food orders, delivery of retail goods, financial transactions, entertainment, communication, social interactions, education of our children, health care, sports, travel, religious activities, etc.
Have you already accepted all of the changes that has happened? Are you able to adopt to all the changes?
While the major changes have something to do with technology… how about the changes in the social and mental well-being of each one of us? Are we all able to adjust to that change already? Has all our family members adjusted to that change already?
I do my best to adjust and I am blessed to have my family, friends, colleagues and my God who help me. But, I have not yet fully adopted to all these changes myself.
Don’t be shy to admit it too. Dear friends, we are all in this together.
I am not an expert in psychology or mental health but if you just need a friend who can listen to you, I am a volunteer.
*About this photo
This is the first photo of my gorgeous wife Prudence in our condo in Cebu after she completed the interior decorations, installation of appliances, furniture and added a homely feel coz I will be working there by myself while she and the family are in Manila. We thank my dad for giving the condo as a gift.
