Since me and my siblings were young, our dad is our mentor in writing scripts, poems, speeches, in joining debates and preparing for how to deliver the talk in public. He told us to practice and practice until you have perfected what you will present to your audience.

At work, I tell me direct reports to always conduct a full internal dry run with me…; 1 week before a monthly business reviews, 2 weeks before a quarterly business review, and 4 weeks before an annual business review.

I told my direct reports that after I sign off on the final working Business Review presentation deck… it is critical to always socialize it with their client vendor partner PRIOR to the actual Business Review attended by all the clients’ senior executives to ensure complete alignment and absolutely no surprises.

The results of the actual Business Review are phenomenal when this advise is followed. When this advise is not followed… it’s always a bad result.

When our youngest daughter, Elisa, was in 4th Grade, her Class Adviser convinced her to run for Grade 4 Level Governor because she is very helpful, smart and has good influence to her batch mates.

This video was one of her many practice sessions with me and my gorgeous wife Prudence before their classroom to classroom campaign.

She won and got numerous positive feedback and commendations when she served that school year from her fellow students, parents, teachers, administrators and support staff from her school.

Her famous line that she coined is: “Don’t forget ELISA stands for… Enjoy Life. Inspire Students. be Awesome!
