As leaders, we always prioritize & protect our Team before ourselves.

When our Team makes a wrong decision, we take full responsibility. We do not throw them under the bus. So, when our stakeholder tells us “This is not good enough!!!” We tell our Team “Try again” or “How will you do this differently?” We convert these situations into a learning opportunity so they can develop their skills and grow while shielding them from the heat from stakeholders. When they are more ready, that’s the time we let them join us in taking some of the heat while resolving the situation.

During the Covid pandemic lockdowns, leaders were front leading the movements of our Associates to hybrid work situations. We ensure everyone’s safety, constantly communicating with stakeholders, ensure we pass government safety audits, and never complaining or showing others we also get tired, need to rest, and some of us also acquired Covid-19.

We need to constantly be strong for our Team because we are their turtle shell.

My first Covid-19 was March 11, 2021. While on home quarantine in Cebu, I chose to remotely attend critical business reviews with clients that week coz I know my Team will be in high spirits knowing I’m with them on the call. I really just said “Good morning everyone” and then “Thanks and Great job, Team” while nursing flu-like symptoms.

This is the photo of my Antigen Test result I took which is positive.

TODAY… I’m on the 4th day of my second Covid-19 illness. Praise God, I am feeling better now and chose to attend critical calls and e-mails where my Team needs me.
