June 20 or 2021, the day we went home from our weekend trip. Before we left the place we were staying at, I went out and explored the place a little more. Then, I came across a hanging bridge. At first glance, my immediate thought was “I am going to cross the bridge”. Although at second look, I doubted myself. I was afraid at heights and the bridge didn’t seem so sturdy either. No doubt, I was afraid, even if it wasn’t that high up. I recalled thinking that in no way am I going to pass that bridge considering I had to take the same route twice. But then I also thought about how I may not be able to come back here again and I would leave with regrets which I didn’t want. I looked back, smiled, looked ahead again, then crossed.

The bridge was shakey but that was not the time to to go back. When I reached the end, I had a feeling of contentment and satisfaction. With that, I had enough confidence to go back.

THE POINT OF LOOKING BACK at this moment is to remember that in life, there is an abundant amount of bridges that we have to cross in all aspects. From school, to work, and so many more. Most of them even come as a surprise. Life throws massive, unexpected curveballs at us. Most also come with turbulence just like the shaking of a bridge. We have to accept that the future is not entirely in our own hands. We have doubts on a lot of things like things that may go wrong. We sometimes face the thought of endless possibilities. The uncertainty of one situation will usually cloud one’s mind. It can lead us to turn our own backs from something that can make us stronger and give us more experience and knowledge.

Just when we think we can’t do something, let us give ourselves some credit and confidence. Only you can manage your own emotions and change your own mind.

In moments of fear and difficulty, accept that you are strong enough to cross your own bridge because the satisfaction and happiness we feel in the end is incomparable to the fear we feel before and we will leave with no regrets. :))
