My Team was pitching to a global bank’s Philippine branch. The client was undergoing a change in their contact center strategy, filed all the requirements to the government agencies, and had a hard stop date to select a vendor partner or get penalized.

I found out that the Central Bank requires an emergency service level within 3 hours or the bank gets penalized. Our current delivery operations were all in the same location, same electric power provider, same telecoms area, etc. So, I created a business case to set up in a new Site location which was a 2-3 hours car drive away from our current Site location. My leaders told me we were not ready to expand to a new location and that I needed to win more clients if they decided to approve it. I told them “I appreciate their positive response…”

They stopped me and said “What positive response? We have not approved your proposed Second Site yet, Patrick!”

I responded saying “Yeah, and after several meetings you have not disapproved it too”. They told me “Win this first and then let’s figure out our next steps”

During the actual solution defense day, my Team was the only one who proposed a dual location strategy which aligns with the ruling of the Central Bank. The client was not aware of this ruling and even called their lawyer during our defense to validate. They appreciated our expertise and care for them and their customers.

Three days later… I told my boss and his boss to sign the lease contract for the new Site across Metro Manila because we won the deal.

That is the history of our second Site location in Metro Manila.
