Some wants to be a leader and think it is a solo position with a lot of followers and take all the glory. Some wants to be #1 and leave everyone behind; never looked back. This is short-sighted and is bound to fail.
“If you think the world revolves around you then there is no growth, there is no success because all you see is just your self”
Being the leader is not about being the strongest or the mightiest. Being a leader is never about you, it is about the others who you serve and elevate. It is about each and every member of your Team “regardless of age, gender, physical abilities, religion, and ethnicity”.
“You trust your teammates and your teammates will trust you… if we develop that, we become one”
*About the video link
These are quotes from my brother, Coach Nath, who is the Head Coach of Team DPW and also Coach of USA Junior National Team. He never talks about himself. He always talks about his Team, his Family, his Community and his God.
I asked him what is one of his inspirations in dragon boat.
He sent me this video link from 2018 and told me to watch the flower tossing ceremony of his friends from the Breast Cancer Survivor Team (Los Angeles Pink Dragons). Each one is great, engaging, supportive.. and each one is Family. As a one Team, they inspire and lead in celebrating life.
