Success is the role of everyone

An organization must invest in a customized and comprehensive Associate Development Program designed for all roles across the Associate lifecycle. This ensures at least 80% of home-grown talent occupy leadership positions. It is a very good motivator to the organization because it demonstrates commitment, excellence and growth to the Associates.

Leadership training programs must have a strong hands-on component guided by a highly engaging mentor. What I have experienced across different organizations is that when the leadership training program is only confined inside a classroom or remote and without a live immersion component, it does not generate that much impact to the leadership culture of the organization. You may see a handful of trainees excel by their own personal conviction but not as an entire training class excelling as one unit.

*About the photo

This photo collage in summer of 2015 was the Amazing CSR Race - Corporate Edition from one of my organizations. Just like any of our organizational programs that generates impact, our senior leadership initiates the community service and environmental program followed by everyone in the organization.

I was part of the green Team. We lost this race but it was super fun and we had great bonding with all the leaders. Oh, in this photo, I was on the phone leading an RFP solution call for one of may last wins for this organization. It was a multi-country solution for a very large global healthcare institution and the Philippines was the global command center.

Equally important is that leaders selected in this mentorship program must be the best there is. They pass on the right stories, myths, battles, the wins, defeats and how everyone rises as one triumphant Team. That’s what brings the leadership culture forwards and upwards. The entire organization is part of this leadership developmental process. Success is the role of everyone in the organization, not just by the mentors or trainers or leaders. It’s all about how you, me and all of us win as one.
