As a leader, you must be brilliant in the basics. No excuses here.

When any of your Associates are stuck and has a problem, you must be able to provide the right guidance, insights and be able to invite other experts if needed. If you are not an expert in the process or field you are in… go and get trained, research, prepare yourself, get a mentor and make it your personal commitment to be a process expert. You owe this to yourself and to the Team you are leading.

Meanwhile, when you do not know the solution or what to do during tough and complex situations requiring immediate resolution, as a leader, you must be able to draw out the best possible solution from your experience or collective experiences of your Team given the circumstances.

When any of my leaders make a decision during these types of unique and uncertain situations, I support them 100%.

Later, when these decisions are evaluated and it turns out it is the right solution, the full credit goes to my leaders. If later it turns out there was a better solution or the solution of my leader is not right… then, it is my accountability.

*About the photo

I’m not a great dancer but during sports fests and any dance competitions at work… when my Team tells me they need me to participate and dance to get extra points from the judges…. I’m All In!

In this photo, (zoom in) you can see my eyes looking at the other dancer, copying his steps.

We lost the cheer dance competition this time but we won the hearts of each and everyone in our Team. This is why whenever I need the support of my Team members to exceed metrics performance and any tough obstacles, all I do and shout is….

(clap! clap!) “One Team…!”

My Team responds and shout with pride… “PCO!!!”
