Nothing beats experience.
Even if you have a lot of academic degrees but have limited experience, you will not be ready for the realities of the corporate world. This is especially true in the Business Process Management industry where one regularly engage with clients and colleagues from different countries and diverse ethnicities.
Personally, I have experienced learning from my bosses who are Filipino (2), American (3), and Indian (3). Each one has their own leadership style and I made sure I learned a lot from them. Oh! Plus a dozen other dotted line bosses in each organization I’m part of… and for some reason some times they don’t exactly agree with one another. That’s several tons more experiential learning as I manage my labyrinth of bosses up. (Sometimes it’s more interesting managing your internal stakeholders than the clients) ✌️😁
Most of my clients are Americans while the others are Canadians, Australians, British, Indians, Singaporeans, and Filipinos. I have been blessed with a diverse kinds of clients where the essential secret to success is to deliver on all contractual commitments, constantly provide transformational insights — analytics, process improvement, automation, robotics, cost savings and value creation — and genuine passion for customer experience. The experience managing varying kinds of client personalities helped strengthen my leadership experience in the industry. Usually it’s the clients on-site that tend to be the most interesting. 😎
My desire for experiential learning is the reason why I have deliberately challenged myself to learn the BPM lifecycle by being in job roles from Sales & Business Development, Solution Management, Transition Management, Service Delivery, Employee Engagement, Site Development and Client Relations.
*About the video
I have the privilege to travel with my family around the Philippines and also internationally to the US, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, South Korea and so far our favorite is Japan.
This videos was our 2-week family vacation in Japan starting last May 10, 2019 from up north to down south of the lovely country. The JR Pass and Shinkansen have been extremely helpful.
