I have to admit, I do not know everything.
This is why I am grateful that my parents exposed me and my siblings to experiential learning growing up.
IT WAS GREAT there was no Google yet when I was in elementary until college. What normally happens is when we tell dad & mom stories about our lessons in school, you can expect that they will find ways to take us to a subject matter expert on the topic or to the place being discussed in school the following weekend.
This is how we got exposed & comfortable speaking with scientists, artists, school administrators, government officials, military officials, businessmen and religious leaders.
Dad loves driving up north and down south within Luzon island. We have visited almost all the significant churches, historic sites, holiday destinations, eaten provincial delicacies, and spoken to common people in various provinces.
Our family hails from Cavite Province so anything about agriculture, rivers and beaches are a common thing for us coz we usually spend summer vacation in the province. Most of our relatives graduated with honors from top universities like Siliman University, University of the Philippines, University of Sto Tomas, Mapua University, etc. So it’s interesting growing up with a lot of smart people around us. :)
*About the photo
I think me & my siblings got the creative & entertainment genes so during family reunions, fiestas, birthday parties and summer get-together, everyone always look forward to me & my siblings sing, dance and perform.
This is a photo of me and my brother, Coach Nath, telling a thrilling funny original short story written by dad called “The Chef and the Astronaut”.
I’ll share that short story in a future hashtag#365SNAPS
Based on my haircut… I was in 4th year high school at this time coz Quezon City Science High School requires 2 inches by 3 inches haircut for boys. I usually just do a 1 by 2 when I was in senior year.
p.s.
“Hi dad! You can’t hide from me!”
That’s dad on the left of the photo wearing blue in his usual seating position holding his knee with his “champion arms” while cross-legged. :)
