Meet my charming niece, Angeli.

Determination, strength, and power. Dragon Boat racing is the ultimate team sport as it requires all paddlers in the boat to WORK TOGETHER to keep a very fast boat. Angeli was part of the United States Club Team, LA County Dragon Boat Club, that competed at the World Club Crew Dragon Boat Championship held in Sarasota, Florida last week against the fiercest 18 year old and under paddlers of the world. She & her TEAM won 5 gold medals in various categories and distances.

Her training started during the pandemic trained by her older siblings, and together with the rest of the team. They trained 2-3 times a week on the water for technique and endurance plus 2-3 times a week at the gym for strength and conditioning.

Angeli’s next competition is a 28 mile ocean paddle on a 6-man outrigger canoe from Newport Beach to Catalina Island. She will be racing with her siblings Matthew and Patricia together with 7 other youth athletes. Follow her IG @angeli_salazar
